We received more than a few comments during and after Juan Martin's show about children at the shows. One child was having a difficult time and it distracted Juan's concentration and he made a comment to that effect.
First of all, at the heart of KHC's programming is the sensibility that we want to expose and turn children and youth on to the delights and the nourishment of the performing, visual and written arts. It's at the very core of what we do with our programming - from our free Memberships and $5 student tickets, from the MasqueParade to the Schools in Community concerts, from partnering with local schools to supporting and commissioning arts education opportunities...and much, much more...

We'd like to suggest that some shows are more appropriate for young ones to attend than others. Check with us at the office if you're not sure - we can give you some background on the artist and what to expect. It's always best to sit near the back with your young ones so that if they're feeling a bit fussy or rambunctious, you can easily go out into the hall to help them settle down. If you feel that it's just too difficult for you and you need to take the child home, we'd be happy to refund your ticket. We hope this helps.

Golden Cultural Scan and Consultation - 2006 (Town of Golden, Rural Golden & Arts Now 2010 Legacies Now)
This past year, Golden Area Initiatives commissioned a 5 month Cultural Scan and Consultation process funded jointly by Arts Now 2010 Legacies Now, the Town of Golden and Rural Golden and facilitated by Gerri Brightwell. KHC's Organizational Assessment Final Report
Thanks to support from the Centre For Sustainability's ArtsPod Program, KHC Directors and guests worked their way through a 2 day organizational assessment retreat last October 2005.
